Name Giving ceremonies have a history almost as old as the human race.
As many celebrants now do them, they started to become more popular from the mid 1970s. A Name Giving ceremony is not a baptism or a christening although it is sometimes referred to as a “secular christening”.
A Naming Ceremony performed by a Celebrant is a fulfilling and meaningful ceremonial experience for all concerned. It is an occasion where a new birth is celebrated and the child is welcomed into the family.
Family relationships are deepened and parents become more aware of their responsibilities. So too, do the grandparents, and godparents/ guardians/mentors.
The naming ceremony is an excellent occasion for the cultural expression of joy, hope and acceptance.
Many people do not believe in infant baptism and so choose this cultural celebration; they leave the child free to choose or not to choose baptism in the late teens. In fact naming ceremonies are performed on this principle.
The Naming ceremony also responds to the cultural and community need to welcome a child into the family and the world, to remind all concerned of the great responsibility involved in bringing up a child, and to recognise and appoint those who will have an important role in the child's development.
Couples may elect to have "Godparents" for the child. Godparents are traditionally Mentors that you, as a couple, have decided to help guide and teach your children alongside the parents.

Standard Fees:
Deposit: $100 ( payable at time of booking to lock in date)
Balance payable: $150 (14 days prior to ceremony)
Total fee: $250
If more than one naming or if incorporated with another ceremony such as a wedding, fee by negotiation.
Additional travelling costs may be applicable depending on location.

Supply Naming Certificate for child being named.
